Welcome to j-digital, an online portfolio of James Plunkett. This portfolio contains pieces of work carried out from 2001 to 2006. It contains a mix of both University and Freelance work, this is my Fist attempt at a CMS web site, so I apologies for any small bugs and glitches you may find. What is CMS? it simply stands for "Content Management System" It works by using MySQL and PHP software to create an online almost blog like website, where all content can be edited and updated online within its software, instead of externally in a HTML package, This is a very good system as it means that clients can therefore maintain and update there own websites after the designer has finished there initial website design (or template). There are two main CMS systems Joomla and Mambo, I am using the later, both are free open source programs, that take a bit of getting used to, but practice makes perfect.
